Twitter brand pages are slowly arriving!

Twitter announced last year that they would be releasing brand specific pages. This new layout would allow them to rival Facebook and begin to attract the attention of the bigger, more established companies. Of course, we were quite excited by this so decided to take a look…

Originally, only bigger brands that spent over $2 million on Twitter’s advertising were given the new layout, but it is gradually being rolled out. However, there is a catch. The buy in isn’t cheap for the new pages, with users needing to commit to $25,000 of Twitter advertising in order to get the layout. Twitter advertising includes promoted tweets and trending topics.

This will obviously isolate the smaller companies, quite a few people are criticising Twitter for the decision, stating that the platform is going the same was as Google and concentrating on the big brands, leaving the smaller companies out in the cold.

Some UK companies have already converted to the new layout. Check out the profiles for Sky F1 HD, Cadbury, EA Sports FIFA & Asda.

What do you think of the new brand pages? Are you following any yet? We’d love to know your thoughts!
