Twitter announced last year that they would be releasing brand specific pages. This new layout would allow them to rival Facebook and begin to attract the attention of the bigger, more established companies. Of course, we were quite excited by this so decided to take a look…
Originally, only bigger brands that spent over $2 million on Twitter’s advertising were given the new layout, but it is gradually being rolled out. However, there is a catch. The buy in isn’t cheap for the new pages, with users needing to commit to $25,000 of Twitter advertising in order to get the layout. Twitter advertising includes promoted tweets and trending topics.
This will obviously isolate the smaller companies, quite a few people are criticising Twitter for the decision, stating that the platform is going the same was as Google and concentrating on the big brands, leaving the smaller companies out in the cold.
Some UK companies have already converted to the new layout. Check out the profiles for Sky F1 HD, Cadbury, EA Sports FIFA & Asda.
What do you think of the new brand pages? Are you following any yet? We’d love to know your thoughts!

We’ve just finished building a website for Clifford Farm, a lovely B&B set in the very heart of the Herefordshire countryside!
Clifford Farm wanted the website to show off their idyllic rural setting, while reflecting the high quality service that guests enjoy during their stay. They also wanted to provide potential customers with the facility to book their break online.
Feeling all inspired by the countryside, we put our design skills into action to create a website that would show the very best of Clifford Farm.
As a result, we’re pleased to reveal an easy to navigate website that uses beautiful imagery to show off the B&B. Functionality includes a content management system and an online booking facility that Clifford Farm can use to manage their bookings.

We’ve just finished designing a book for Willow Cottage, a lovely group of nurseries in Oxford. We have designed books for Willow Cottage in the past and they came back to us with another idea, this time for a book called ‘On The Beach’.
The Brief for ‘On The Beach’ was much the same as the other books we have done for the series. They are all designed to educate children on healthy eating. All are written in poetry and contain the Willow Cottage character, ‘Mr Willow’.

The end product was a storyline which incorporated the character whilst including images of different aspects of the beach. The poetry involves questions and activities for children to take part in and the recipe at the end relates strongly to the overall theme of the book.
Willow Cottage as a nursery has built up a reputation for quality food. This reputation was to be carried over into the books and provide kids with cookbooks that are a bit different.
‘On The Beach’ is available on Amazon here!
